Signalform was founded around 2004 by Christoph Abert, Frederik Dahlke and Ingo Zobel. They are better known for their project Drøn. As Drøn they had their first release in 1999 on the very influential german label Elektrolux. Between 1999 and 2002 they released three albums, one 12" ep and appeared on many compilations. In 2004 they decided to leave the label Elektrolux, put the whole Drøn project to rest until 2012 and continue as Signalform. Private Channel is the Signalform debut album, which was originally released as a CDr on Shima Records, a small one-man label based in the UK. Due to limited distribution and marketing this album remained widely unknown. Only a handfull of CDr's had actually been sold, making the CDr a true collectors item. This album could have very well been a Drøn album, as it holds the same DNA; a blend of electronica, electro and ambient techno. Thanks to Touched Music this album is now available again, for the first time on a properly pressed cd, featuring remastered versions of all the original album tracks and even some formerly unreleased bonus tracks from the same era, giving it a running time of over 76 minutes. The band is very proud and happy to release this album on Touched Music. All proceeds will be donated to MacMillan Cancer Support. Big kudos to Martin Boulton for his charity work, he is a true inspiration.
